1.) Government Sustainability and Funding
When: 3:30 PM
Heapy has assembled a panel of Sustainability Directors (or equivalent) from larger cities in the region, including: Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Columbus. The panelists will share their sustainability progress to date, upcoming programs and impact or potential impact of Federal Stimulus Funding among other topics. The three panelist include: Larry Falkin from Cincinnati, Erin Miller from Columbus (OH) and Karen Haley from Indianapolis. The following is background on the panelists and some of their community goals.

Erin Miller, City of Columbus, Environmental Steward
As the Environmental Steward for the City of Columbus, Erin is charged with leading the Mayor’s Get Green Columbus campaign. Get Green Columbus is a multi-faceted initiative for the City to craft environmentally sound policies, build healthier neighborhoods, and protect the communities air and water, all while encouraging the development of green buildings and jobs in Columbus.
Prior to joining Mayor Coleman’s team, Ms. Miller was the Director of the Center for Energy & Environment at Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission. The Center brings business, non-profit, educational institutions and local governments together and serve as a clearinghouse and think-tank for responsibly managing resources today for the benefit of future generations. The Center serves the 12 county central Ohio region in the areas of air quality, energy conservation, alternative energy, greenways / water quality and climate change.

2.) Tools of Sustainability: Integrated Project Delivery and BIM
When: 5:30 PM
The session will offer an insider’s view into the “meshing” of Owner, Design and Construction teams to produce energy efficient and environmentally responsible buildings.
